Welcome to Nanton

Nanton offers a quieter alternative to larger urban centres while remaining within commuting distance of Calgary and High River. The town has established residential neighbourhoods, newer housing, recreation facilities, schools, local businesses and a strong calendar of community activities.

Its location on Highway 2 also provides convenient access north toward Calgary and south toward Claresholm and Lethbridge.

Nanton's housing stock includes older character homes, established bungalows, newer residential development and properties with larger lots than are typically available in Calgary.

Because Nanton is a smaller market, pricing can vary substantially depending on location, age, condition, renovations, garage and lot size. Monthly averages can also be influenced by a relatively small number of sales.

Nanton is served by Livingstone Range School Division. A new K–6 elementary school and a modernized Grade 7–12 high school are currently under construction, with completion scheduled for summer 2027 and students expected to move into the new spaces for fall 2027.

Nanton is known throughout Southern Alberta for its historic downtown, antique and specialty shops, grain elevators and the Bomber Command Museum of Canada. The community also has restaurants, cafés and everyday services for residents 

Recreation opportunities include the Nanton Golf Club, outdoor swimming pool, arena, curling, gym, parks, playgrounds, sports organizations, rodeo grounds and community facilities. Nanton also hosts events and activities throughout the year.
