About the Contest

The Nanton Christmas Light Contest is a community-wide holiday decorating event inviting residents throughout Nanton, Alberta to light up their homes and help make the town shine for Christmas.

Registered displays will be featured on the Nanton Christmas Light Display Map, making it easy for residents and visitors to tour the lights and enjoy the displays throughout the holiday season.

For every home registered, Jennifer Handley and Simon Hunt of RE/MAX First will donate $10 to the Nanton Food Bank.

How to Enter

Entering is free and easy. Decorate your home for Christmas, register your address using the form below, and have your lights on and ready for judging on December 7, 2027.

Once registered, your home will be added to the public Christmas Light Display Map. Prizes will be awarded to selected displays, with full prize and judging details provided below.

We’ll award $300 in local gift cards to recognize some of Nanton’s most creative, festive and impressive Christmas light displays.

Every registration helps our community. Jennifer Handley and Simon Hunt will donate $10 to the Nanton Food Bank for every home registered in the contest.

  • One registration per property
  • Displays must be registered by the deadline
  • Lights must be on for judging on December 7, 2027

Judging & Prizes

  • Displays will be judged on overall appearance, creativity and Christmas spirit
  • Judges’ decisions are final
  • Winners will be contacted after judging
  • Prizes are awarded as local gift cards
  • Registered addresses will appear on the public Christmas Light Display Map
